The smallest-displacement engine ever to vroom-vroom under the hood of a Camaro, the 2.0-liter turbo LTG.
Hey Oppo, I promised all y’all a review of the new 2019 Camaro 2.0T 1LE a few weeks ago. Between university classes and more university classes, I’ve only just today got around to compiling my initial impressions of the car. Will post it up later today :)
In the mean time, how have y’all been? What’s the latest with OPPO?

I seem to have finally met someone, so that’s good. What’s not good is that the M3 seems to be burning oil. Not at an alarming rate, but it’s never done this and less than 500 miles into this oil change it seems to be burning some. I’m worried they didn’t put the right oil in.

Awesome! Excited to read it!
I test drove a V6 1LE a while ago a nd really liked it. Even on a 3/10ths test drive, you could tell the 1LE was more special than the normal car.

Neato! But you’re gonna have to tell us why not V6.

The M3 is jealous, clearly. It’s burning oil to demand more attention from you.
In all seriousness though, that’s great to hear! (Meeting someone, not burning oil) Hope things go well for both :)

I’ll go into more depth in the article, but the 1LE is what truly makes this car. Stay tuned, I’m super stoked too.

I’ll include that in the article for sure. The V6 is only $1000 more with the same 1LE package, but the choice was clear.

I’m having major Thailand withdrawals and everything here seems dark and gloomy. Been fighting of *the feels* with motorcycle test rides. Oh and the Miata is for sale. That’s new.
Hoooooly what I didn't know you got a Camaro!!! That's awesome, I can't wait to hear about it. You should do a comparison post with the mr2!

Been spending more time in the M3 recently. We actually took it up to Asheville last Saturday on a day trip.

School starts back up soon, but no Term or Long-term Sub positions for me....nobody ever got back to me about the positions I applied to....sigh....so back to regular subbing again! :/

Thailand sounds pretty nice for sure, I’m guessing the weather has more sunny vibes? Miata for sale too, that’s huge.
I’ve had the Camaro for a few weeks but also have been too busy to post anything about it. Trying to change that this week. I’ll try to make a comparison post in the near future!

Why no GTI, the official car of Oppo?
Wait... I see your ‘Maro has a 2.0T, which I think is the official engine of Oppo.
Congratulations.

Are you not looking for a full time teaching gig?
![]() 09/02/2019 at 17:03 |
|
I can’t...i
n our system you need to have so many consecutive days of work in Term positions before you’re even allowed to apply for a permanent position. I do not have anywhere near enough Term days, and even though Long-term Sub positions are the EXACT SAME THING (as in you are teaching full time every day, doing report cards, etc, etc), Long-term Sub positions do not count towards your consecutive day count....it HAS to be Term positions...
Let’s just say it’s an incredibly
bullsh*t system...

That makes literally no sense. How does one get term days then?
![]() 09/02/2019 at 17:35 |
|
Apply to, have an interview and get selected for Term positions....of which I applied to several in the past few weeks and heard back from none, sadly...
I had a 40% (two days a week) Term last year doing Literacy Support (and normal-subbed the other three days a week), so that was nice, but didn’t get one back this year so far...

The 2.0T is an amazing engine for sure. 275 hp / 295 lb-ft. Quite happy with it :D

That’s rough. I know when I was unemployed it felt like I hit the pause button on my life, it sounds like it’s been tough for you. Hopefully you can eventually get a full time gig.

I boiled my brake fluid running the Corolla at a Trackcross yesterday. It magicly fixed itself overnight and the pedal once again feels like it did the day I bought it.
